Peter’s Yard Presents: Taking Time with Quicke’s Cheese

At Peter’s Yard, our most important ingredient is time. Time for our sourdough to ferment; time for each cracker to cook and cool to irresistible crispness; time for you to savour each bite.

This year, we’re proud to launch a new three-part series called ‘Taking Time’ – a collection of films which introduces artisan producers across the country who share our philosophy for slowly-made food and drink. Our first film features Devonshire cheesemakers, Quicke’s.

Like us, Quicke’s use time-honoured methods and recipes to create their award-winning produce. Situated in the Devonshire hills of Newton St Cyres, Quicke’s have been producing outstanding cheese for 14 generations – handmade, clothbound and slow-matured to perfection.

In this film, Mary Quicke tells us why time plays such an important role on the farm – we hope you enjoy it.
