Sweden is the home of crispbread. It was traditionally made with a hole in the centre so that large discs could be stored on a pole over the fire and used throughout the long, cold Swedish winters as an alternative to fresh bread.
Our crispbreads are baked in an artisan bakery in the UK using an authentic Swedish recipe discovered by one of our founders, Peter Ljungqvist. Today we use the same natural ingredients including fresh milk, salt and flour and add our precious sourdough, which is allowed to develop over 16 hours before each batch is made. Each crispbread is hand-baked until golden and crisp, taking care to preserve the characteristic bubbles that come from using a natural sourdough starter.
We offer a variety of crispbread recipes and pack sizes. The combination of their light, crisp texture and simple, high quality ingredients make them the perfect partner for canapés and the natural choice for cheese.
